Lancaster Township and the City of Lancaster are served by the School District of Lancaster which has an approximate population of 11,120 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. There are 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and one high school separated into grades 9-10 and 11-12 located in two buildings on one campus. Bi-lingual and Special Education classes are taught. Individual preferences and skills are taken into account with the offering of different career tracks in the upper school levels. Vo-Tech, school-to-work, advanced placement classes and an International Baccalaureate program are all part of the curriculum.
