Wheatland

Wheatland, an 1828 Federal mansion house, was the rural Lancaster County home of James Buchanan, America’s 15th President of the United States (1857-1861). This National Historic Landmark has been restored to show life during the years of Buchanan’s occupancy (1848-1868). Today Wheatland is positioned amidst four landscaped acres.

Tours begin in Wheatland’s Carriage House (located near the parking lot) where tickets are sold and a video introduces Buchanan and Wheatland to the visitor. For more information regarding special events and tour schedules, please call (717) 392-8721

Wheatland is located 1 ½ miles west of Lancaster City on Route 23 (Marietta Avenue) near the intersection of President Avenue in Lancaster Township. The address is 1120 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603.
